Some goods and not-so-goods... First off - our waitress Shelby was one of the best servers ever... We had some special requests and allergies - and the place was slammed with celebrities and their entourages (Lindsey Lohan at one table and Ann Hathaway at another, to name a couple) - but Shelby nailed everything, at one point bringing the chef out to confer... Shelby's busser was hilarious, too; great guy. The service overall was just outstanding. I wish I could say the same about the food. We spent $500 for 4 of us, and the meal was just okay... Not great. The chicken was over-marinated and greasy... The pasta average. Part of this is consistent with a ski town - they can get away with it. But they should do better at those prices.

Amazing food and such a romantic enviornment. The food is classic and classy. The chef had out done himself. The food is amazing love the Flatbread and the food is something you can only get at a place like Grappa. It had a modern spin on classics. My taste buds loved this place. I have read some of the negative reviews and am dissapointed the restaurant is old and that is what makes it unique and only something you can get on main street. The food is worth the money- this is an up class restaurant!! Loved it will be back- again and again!

Frequented the place on 1/15/14 right before the start of the Sundance festival. The setting is very rustic with a homey feeling. There is an extensive wine list. I might add that we went to the restaurant because it's the favorite of our friend who owns a place in Park City. We first started with the amuse bouche of a goat cheese panacotta. If you like goat cheese, you would love this. We got a flat bread consisting of arugula, basil, pine nuts and a balsamic vinegarette. We got entrees of lamb tagliatelle and is osso buco. Unlike a lot of the places in Park City, the portions were very generous and we ended up taking a doggy bag home. I would recommend this place as well. I might add that we were there for skiing and not part of the Hollywood film set.

We had a good experience at this restaurant. The hostess was friendly and so was our server. The bus boys could do some smiling. They had a very blank face every time they came out to do something. Made no attempts to make eye contact with the customers. We enjoyed our calamari dish. It was nice and crispy and had a good flavor to it. Our main entree was also good but I don't know if it was worth the price they were charging. Overall, we enjoyed the experience, the atmosphere and the ambiance of the place.

We had a wonderful dinner at Grappa on our last night in Park City. Our meal was fantastic. Our server, Quincy was spot on with her recommendations for wine, dinner and dessert. We will definitely be back!

A lot of people complain about the price. But it is a high end restaurant in Park City. What do you expect? The food was really good; however the service was terrible. It was terrible service by any standard, especially for an expensive high end restaurant. We waited 20 minutes just to ask for water. We waited about another 10 minutes for a chance to ask for bread. We placed our order 40 minutes after sitting down. It took an hour for the food to come out. None of our drinks (water or soda) were refilled without us asking (on the rare occasion the waiter passed by our table). I wouldn't come here again.

Like the reviewer below- Howie, I'm also from DC and know a good restaurant. Maybe we didn't order the right things, but a great restaurant shouldn't have anything on the menu subpar. My pasta didn't have much flavor and was overcooked. My husband's scallops were perfectly done, but sadly the accompanying items were not what was listed on the menu. The scallops were served on a bed of overcooked mush of peppers and onions. The atmosphere is fantastic, but the food was not worth the money.

We dined at Grappa this evening for the first time. I imagine it is typical for them to be rather slow at 8:00 on a Sunday evening but we largely had the restaurant to ourselves and enjoyed our table near a fireplace, set apart from the larger section of the restaurant. We were greeted promptly and the server was very knowledgeable about both the wine and food menu. She was attentive but not imposing which is a difficult skill to master as a server. We ordered the antipasta, papardelle, grape and pecan salad, scallops, french press coffee, and tiramisu. I would order each item again although most were overpriced. The cheese and meat selection were perfect for an appetizer and nicely balanced with the mustard, pickled grapes, and marinated vegetables. The papardelle was delicious but comparable to what one could get for less than $27. I found the wine menu sufficient with a distinct emphasis on Italian varieties, as one would expect. Overall, our experience was excellent and I was happy to pay for high quality food, a unique ambiance, and superior service.

Bill white has atmosphere down to a perfection. Love everything about Grappa! The brick walls the eclectic lighting the formal yet comfortable surrounding is second only to Wahso's booths. We went on local Monday and I am addicted to the mushroom lasagna. Our entire party loved the house made pastas. After reading the article about Bill White, in one of our local magazines, I have become a huge fan. Excited for the opening of his next location, crossing my fingers it will be organic and GMO free. LOVE hearing about employers who take care of their team! We will continue to dine at all your restaurants. Will pass your article around too.

I saw the poor reviews, and it proves to me these people know nothing. I have wine and dined at the best of the best throughout the US. This place ranks at the top. Very good food. I had the chicken parm, the other five who attended had various beef and fish meals. By the time we all were done, our plates were clean. We had two bottles of wine, six mix drinks, four different desserts, coffee's, and teas. Along with Grappa's well known Grape Salad. OMG! It was amazing! Its sex on a salad. When it comes to UT, there aren't a lot of amazing places. This is my number one. I have to come here for work, and I typically hate coming here. This made it all worth while. For six people who got a four corse meal, it was $700 (which included the 20% tip). Not bad at all. Enjoy the view. I recommend sitting outside if the temp is right. You feel at home on the patio. Great management and servers as well. Ask your server about the wine deal of the day. They have a special on a different glass/bottle of wine every night. Its worth asking. VERY GOOD!
The only reason for the 4 out of 5 stars is there isn't a bar or place to wait for your table. The food was delicious and the service was spectacular. I suggest having a signature grappa before starting your meal. The server did a great job of pairing wines with our meal as well. All around good experience with the exception of having to walk in the snow to another bar while we waited for our table.

Ate here and at Silver on a recent trip to PC. Silver was overpriced and fair, Grappa was overpriced and excellent. I would definitely go back, worth the 150/couple it costs.

This restaurant is solid but nothing special, as the other reviews suggest. The atmosphere is lovely as the restaurant is set in an old house. The menu was small(ish) but interesting. The apps were just so so: a charcuterie board that was disjointed, a deconstructed Caesar salad dressed in what tasted like the exact same dressing that was served along side of the (yummy) focaccia bread as "dipping oil." It was a very garlicky balsamic dressing and just irritated me that it wasn't presented as such, but hey! We all really enjoyed our entrees- the linguini and clams, the snapper and the spicy meatballs and spaghetti. The tiramisu was delicious and the wine selection quite good. All in all nice meal but nothing to write home about.

Searching for an Italian restaurant on the Yelp App, we found Grappa. Since it only had 3 Stars, we asked the staff at the hotel we were staying at about this restaurant....they raved about it. So we decided to give it a try. It's situated a the end of the shopping area on Main St, which for a non-resident can be tough to spot at night. We parked across the street in the parking lot, which is metered. Don't worry, the meters accept credit cards, so you don't have to worry about coins or cash. We were seated at a table next to the window on the 2nd floor of the restaurant, which gave us a nice view of Main St and part of the valley. It was very nice since it was near sunset. After browsing the menu, I decided to order: Spinach & Goat Cheese Gnocchi (Roasted Tomato Pomodoro, Preserved Lemon, Aged Goat Cheese) Spaghetti alla Chittara (Spicy Meatballs, Roasted Onions & Peppers, Fresh Herbs, Pecorino Romano, Arrabbiata Sauce) The Better Half and I love Gnocchi, so we split that appetizer. It was awesome. The Aged Goat Cheese gave it a nice sharp flavor which went well with the Tomato Pomodoro....yum! The Spaghetti was really good too. I like spicy food, so it was nice to have Spaghetti & Meatballs with a little spicy kick. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Our Wine glasses were never empty until we were ready to leave. Of course, before we left I had to have a glass of Grappa.....how could I dine in a restaurant called Grappa and not have a glass?! Overall, it was a very pleasant dinner experience. I will come back the next visit to Park City. Return Factor - 90%

Waiting for our 8:00 reservation. This place is awful. Staff acknowledges 2 tables have paid but they can't ask them to leave. They never learned restaurant tact. Haven't eaten but we will never be back. The locals warned us the service is awful.

Recently we visited Park City, Utah from San Diego, Ca. and made the rounds of Bill White restaurants which we recommend. However, Grappa is the oldest and still the flagship in our book. The romantic interior and truly delicious food still amaze us after so many years of enjoying this restaurant. We asked the waiter for a wine selection and he brought a reasonably priced wine that was the perfect pairing for the fish we had selected. The staff gave great service with so sense of being rushed. The timing of the courses spoke volumes about the professional approach to dining that characterizes Grappa. STELLAR!

We try to make it to Grappa every time we are in Park City and it never disappoints. Once you get in - yes, it's always crowded - the service and food are fantastic. The wine list is excellent. The bread with dipping sauce is SO good and addictive; be careful or you won't eat your dinner! The caesar salad and spicy spagetti and mushroom soup are excellent but so is everything else. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the prices are a bit high in my opinion. I like to feel that you are getting a good value for your money and that is tough here.

Grappa is a great, relaxing place for a good meal, and a nice glass of wine. I have been here a few times and I make my own decision based on what the locals tell me. I ate here yesterday, and before I post this, I read some of the reviews. First, when you go to a higher end restaurant, a $25 corking fee is the norm. Second, if you are bitching about the price, really? Ask to look at the menu before you sit down and order. Someone made a comment that, "The food was better than average but not worth the premium price", tells me that your expectations here were never going to met. Most good restaurants charge higher, because they know their clientele. My advise, if you come here on a budget...go somewhere else. That does two things, one, it will be easier for me to get a table, and second, I do not have to read your review because of things that you didn't like (corking fee, and paying for better than average cuisine). OK... First, this is not NYC, NJ, or Chicago. This is PCU! For PC, this is the best Italian food I have had. 2nd, if you are trying to compare it to your favorite NYC Italian(mine is II Mulino off 3rd St), don't. But, enjoy a very good meal, with above average service. How much did I spend? $200. Did I overpay? No. Was it worth the expense? You bet. I am not a "Wine guy" but we selected a under $50 bottle. I can tolerate a Red and we liked the Boroli Merlot that we selected. We split the Spinach and Goat Cheese Gnocchi and liked the flat bread as well. I have never been a beet fan but the Cinnamon Roasted Beets were delicious. Entrees were the Grappa's Osso Bucco and the Cannelloni. Both were great and the veal was cooked perfectly. We split the Tiramisu and it satisfied. The service was consistent, the dining room inviting, and we did not mind the 45 minute wait, especially on a busy Saturday. See you next year on my winter ski vacation....

This is the best Italian in Park City, if not the entirety of Utah! The staff are fabulous. The Mushroom soujp was creamy and deliciously flavorful. The salad, perfectly composed and beautifully dressed (the house salad). The calamari lightly fried, delicate batter, wonderful texture, soulful flavor of the sea. My dining companion had the scallops, perfectly cooked, also soul of the sea. A parsnip puree beneath held in the flavors of the caramelization of the scallops adorning it. I had the basic spaghetti and meatballs, and it was a REVELATION--perfectly cooked noodles, a sauce redolent with onions and peppers, the meatballs just like someone's mama used to make... Service was uniformly excellent, Tommy the manager helped us select wines skillfully. The wine list was balanced and fairly priced (we had a Croatian white and some galsses of red, including a barolo and a pinot noir from Torii Mor in oregon), No desert, but next time will try to save some room. Oh, the bradbasket rocked, with the balsamic dipping sauce instead of butter. Several floors of pleasure, been around forever, should get more respect from locals and visitors alike. We went during Sundance, and while crowded, the joint still flowed pretty smoothly. Kudos to the kitchen, since we were the last seating, for perfect pacing and not making us feel rushed, and timing the food to perfection. Just a really great meal all around. I would not call this place a cafe--it is a fine dining experience..!

Great place in PC. We had dinner on Sunday night and from the excellent server to the dessert, we were not disappointed. We began with the Flat Bread appetizer daily chef special, which consisted of Pork Belly Onions, Spinach, cheese, and red sauce. It was delicious. We love mushrooms and their Mushroom soup was outstanding. We had noted a sweet flavor and found out that the chef adds a little sherry in it. Highly recommend if u love mushrooms. Then my wife had the mushroom Lasagna and I had the Osso Bucco. Both were cooked excellently and were very tasteful. The Osso Bucco was accompanied with Brussels Sprouts that were one of the best eaten by me. Finally, we had the Almond Affocato for dessert which consisted of a delicious combination of gelato, expresso, biscotti's and a Almond cake. Our sever Sarah recommended a bottle of red wine from Italy called Santa Guistina. Great recommendation Sarah!!!The meal, service, and experience met our expectations with the monies we spent for Dinner.

We have been loyal patrons for several years and I opted to bring my Mother here for her Birthday. It literally took 30 minutes for the server to acknowledge our table and another 25 minutes for us to get a salad. We were so tired by the time the dinner arrived an hour and a half later, that we could not eat it. It was the servers grand idea to offer us a box of dessert cookies to apologize for the dismal service. The food is pretty good, but the overall experience was really disappointing.

After trying 25+ restaurants in the Park City area over the past six months, I decided it was time to write some reviews. We discovered Grappa during last month's Dine About event. Simply put, this place is a waste of money. The menu is diverse enough, and the service was adequate. The food is just adequate as well - it's better than Olive Garden, but no better than your average Italian family restaurant. There is a mass-produced, bland feel to the flavors, and they are definitely scared of salt. Normally, this would wind up a three star, except for one thing: the prices are absolutely ridiculous for what you get. I could easily get the same food for at least half the price in similar area restaurants. Maybe they can charge more because it's a Bill White restaurant? On a side note, the restaurant is in a 100+ year old restaurant with a fascinating history and incredible architecture. Stick your head in to look around, then go straight to Cafe Terigo or Fuego for some good Italian.

Gorgeous restaurant, very overpriced and disappointing wine by the glass offerings. My roasted chicken was a small portion and came out cold. The gazpacho was very good but not special, same thing with the calamari. I would not choose to return to this restaurant but it was not horrible. They are part of a restaurant group so we found out their other restaurants so we can cross them off our Park City list. Sorry Grappa, you don't cut the mustard.

People who give this place a bad reveiw are crazy. Admittedly, we shied away from this place because it gets mixed reviews on Yelp. But then one Thursday night recently we wanted Italian in PC, and this place could take us, so we figured we'd give it a whirl. Grappa did not disappoint. The food was fantastic. Was it the best Italian food I've ever had in my life? No. But it definitely met my criteria for a great meal, particularly for Park City. The service was more than satisfactory too. Our waitress was attentive, our water and wine glasses were never empty, and our food arrived piping hot and as ordered. No complaints there. The space is very cozy, with big windows looking out on the snow falling on Main Street. We also had a great table right next to the fireplace too, which added a lot to the atmosphere. Don't believe the 1 and 2 star reviews...it's fantastic!

I have always enjoyed my stops into this place. The food is always consistent and great tasting. I am not a huge fan of Italian food regularly. But I always enjoy my food here. I love the bread they bring with balsamic dip. I usually order the spaghetti, yes it sounds boring. But it isn't the usual spaghetti you get at most places. A really robust flavor in the marinara sauce. And the pasta is super fresh and yummy. I will be happy when I get to come back here.

I will echo many of the prior reviews for Grappa. Mediocre and extremely over-priced! The restaurant is beautiful and the service was very good. A friend had requested Grappa for her birthday dinner, and since we have never been, we thought it would be a good excuse to try it. Let me first highlight the positives: Service Bread and balsamic sauce The Bad: Pricing-ABSURD. I have said it before and I will say it again; I don't mind paying for a great dining experience. But when it is average food, at best, I have a big problem! The wines are marked up of course but we got a nice Chianti for a decent price. The cocktails are priced competitively and are OK. Onto the food... Pork Ravioli app was good but not served hot. Pet Peeve! Salad was really silly for $12. Short rib cannelloni: again, not hot and lacked interest. It was pot roast rolled in pasta. Did not come across as a hearty, Italian dish. It didn't come together for me at all. Pork tenderloin: just absurd! The potatoes were like fried breakfast potatoes. Pork was tender but I have made it better at home. I suppose to justify the cost of this absurdity, they topped the dish with a mound of arugula. Italian Cookies comped for dessert. They were ok... Coffee was good: French press was LaVazza. Cappuccino was just ok: $7..REALLY! I truly hate leaving an establishment feeling as though it was a waste of $$$. Of course it was lovely to be with friend's and celebrate a birthday. It was a lovely setting and we have fun anywhere. But it is much easier to swallow a dinner tab when the meal is on point.

Incredible service - and our server's description of the menu items made everything sound irresistible. Nice wine list - by the bottle and glass. Cozy and pretty atmosphere. The house made dip for the bread causes instant addiction!

OK - it's Sundance and a bunch of tourists are in town. Does that mean you serve them flavorless food? Our party of 4 dutifully ordered the prix fixe dinner as required and eagerly waited yummy Italian food. Which never arrived. We did get food. But it was not yummy. If you like very ordinary, unexceptional Italian, try Grappa.

Our experience the other night over the holidays was frustrating and beyond disappointing. I wish we had the sense to walk out before our orders were placed. The hostesses claimed we never made a reservation, when we did so with our concierge in early November. It wasn't until I got the concierge to call them that they miraculously "found" our reservation. Unfortunate for us. A half hour later we were escorted to a table stuffed in an alcove off the reception area. When we asked for a better table we went upstairs to a nice table. That was the end of anything "nice" about our dining experience. We waited about 15 minutes for water and menus, then after another 15 minutes finally asked the water server to get our waiter. He came out and asked if we had any questions about the menu. Huh?!! We asked if there were any specials, etc. Oh, and by the way could we have some drinks and bread?? Then, since almost an hour had elapsed since we walked in, we went ahead and ordered our meals. Trying to get drink refills or any attention at all was near to impossible. The meals when they came, were tepid warm and mediocre, and overall our stomachs were in knots the whole night. Couldn't wait to end a really bad (and ridiculously expensive) dining experience. Our waiter was one of the worst we've encountered in years-- had an attitude of "I suck as a waiter and I don't care-- I'll never see you again." It was especially annoying to see him be so attentive to the table that came in after us... drinks and dinner were prompt for them! We are from the DC area, travel a lot and I can say it's been quite some time since we've had food and service this abysmal. Do yourself a favor and don't go to Grappa. Oh and by the way-- one of the hostesses told us they had "way overbooked" that week. Nice!! They are money grubbers, taking advantage of people coming to Park City over the holidays looking for a nice dining experience.

Grappa is located in a charming old building at the top of Main Street which spills out into a romantic and intimate multi-level patio. We found ourselves seated amongst beautiful greenery and a trickling fountain as the backdrop to our fabulous dining experience. starting off with fresh Italian bread accompanied by a delicious dipping sauce, we enjoyed wine from a pleasing wine list. The flat bread was divine as a starter and the grape salad was a unique and exquisite blend of flavors. lastly, the scallop entree was deserving of a 5 star rating. our server was courteous and helpful, yet gave us much space to enjoy our romantic evening. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and can't wait to return on our next visit to Park City.

First course, second course, third course, and wine list all great. Dessert, however, was the worst I have ever had. The sorbetto was so disgusting I couldn't eat it. Tasted like it had been scraped off the bottom of the walk in. Even my 8 year old couldn't eat her favorite dish, tiramisu. Tasted like an old dry cookie salvaged from the cushions of a leather couch, stuck In between a pre-fabbed egg shaped chocolate from a 7-11. We will go back, but will never eat dessert there again.

Great service but food was awful. Adding insult to injury was that everything was incredibly overpriced. That was our first and last time at Grappa. There's too many other great options on Main St to give it a second chance.

Came in this past week. Based on the papperdelle I had, I can't give this place any more than 2 stars. I probably need to try more food to make an informed judgement, but that's not going to happen so two stars is it.

We asked four or five locals and Grappa came up again and again. We were not disappointed. My osso bucco was rich and tender. Our antipasto appetizer was not run of the mill. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. She suggested a wine to complement our meal and truly hit the mark. My only complaint was acoustics. We heard every detail of childbirth from a woman who was not that close to us -- in restaurant terms.

Grappa's is a high end restaurant at the top of Main Street. It's in an old 'guesthouse'. I've heard different stories about what type of guesthouse this was but I'm not sure whether the more colorful stories are true. Definitely worth asking for the history from your server if you come here. I would give this place five stars except for two issues; 1) it's extremely pricey - even without alcohol, and 2) we have had a couple of misses on meals. We were there a couple of weeks ago and I had an Osso Bucco that was incredible. One of our group had the Mac and Cheese that they said was the best they've ever had. On the flip side, one of our party ordered the calimari and it was mostly batter. The good news is that the restaurant removed the charge for the calimari without even being asked. This is a regular stop for us on our visits to PC, but we don't bring the kids here. Reservations needed.

This has to one of the best restaurants in Park City. It is expensive, and that is why my wife and I dine here in the off season so we can use the 2-4-1 coupons published in the Park Record. FYI ... This is a PC tradition .. Most restaurants offer 2-4-1s. I have read most of the reviews posted, and aside from the $$ comments, disagree with all of them. The food is great and so is the service. The fact that Yelp has Grappa rated # 31 confirms what I have long suspected - most diners are clueless. So, all I can say is - don't eat here .. it will make it easier for us to get a table.

Grappa is better than the one star that some people are leaving. My wife and I come here about once per year. We ate upstairs at a corner table it was very intimate. The balsamic reduction for the bread was the best I have ever had. We also had the calamari with marinara sauce.....also excellent. I had the Osso Buco which fell off the bone with a fork, it was very good. They had a nice selection of wines by the glass that I liked. We didn't have desert but I did have a good expresso. The service was excellent the server was very accommodating, my wife always has several small requests when dinning and our sever completed them all with a smile and was very polite to us.

The food and the service were terrific. We started with the antipasto for two, which was really enough for four, and it was just perfect selection of meats and cheeses along with a duck confit that was just splendid. The antipasti is a must. We also had the fried calamari. Fried calamari comes in two types, really bad and really good. This happened to be really, really good. For entrees we had the osso buco, the risotto which is made fresh to order and is enough for 14 people except for the fact that my 11year-old daughter ate all but about two tablespoons full. My son had the flatbread and the chicken. The chicken was a Italian-seasoned chicken. It was very good. The osso buco was absolutely amazing. They serve it with the bone of course and you have the bone marrow and they accurately included a bone marrow fork which was perfect. Great wine list, terrific service. We sat outside which if you're here in the appropriate season is the exact right thing to do. This restaurant is really, really terrific.

SUPER crowded... did I mention, SUPER crowded? That's the first impression you get when you walk into Grappa. As we stood waiting for our table to be ready, I began to get irritated. We were on time but had to wait, at least 15-20 minutes to get seated. My anger began to dissipate when a waitress offered me a free glass of champagne - NICE customer service. When we finally were seated we were ushed up two flights of stairs to the third floor... who knew such a teeny-looking place had so many tables? The atmosphere was "very Italian"... crowded like you're eating at Mama Mia's house when lots of chatter and appropriate decor. The menu was phenomenal. I was pretty full from a delicious meal at Deer Valley (see Royal Street Cafe) so I opted for their signature dishes: Grappa's Acclaimed Mushroom Soup and the Grape and Gorgonzola Salad. Let's just say I wasn't disappointed. :-) Both were EXCELLENT and I highly recommend them both. If you've spent a day on the slopes and decided to go down Stein's Way and survive, treat yourself to a fantastic meal at Grappa. Just call WAY ahead of time to make reservations.

Grappa is consistently "good enough" but never really blows me away... It's the kind of place that I always find enjoyable when I am invited by company, but I am never really compelled to choose it myself when considering Main for dinner. Love their locals specials in the summer though! Can't beat their $10 select entrees menu (regularly $25-$40) and $5 house wines. Their patio is really beautiful in the summer...don't think I'll be eating there this winter though. A little overrated.

The food was very good but extremely pricy. Our waitperson was charming and knowledgeable. My primary complaint is the increase in their corkage fee to the outrageous price of $30! I overheard other patrons who were similarly shocked by the increase who asked to see the wine list in lieu of paying the corkage fee. Seriously?! Who and where do they think they are? I doubt I'd go back.

It's been about 7 years since I've been here, but I still remember my night and meal quite well. It was during the Sundance Film Festival, so it was crowded, but we managed to get seated right away. Unfortunately, part of what made it so memorable was that I came down HARD with a flu right after leaving the restaurant and my food quickly left my body. As awful as it sounds, my food was tasty coming back up too! I remember having some sort of steak and it being much tougher than it should have been and not as rare as I had ordered it. It was still quite delicious and they paired it with a great wine. Having heard such great things about this place from people in LA, I expected better. Of course the romantic atmosphere and homey decor made for a better experience, but it was quite overrated. Hey, at least I got a glass of wine out of the deal and was asked out to dinner by Patrick Fugit at 16 years old. Too bad I was too sick to say anything and had to dash into the ladies room! If you're looking for a nice couples meal and traditional Italian (not your regular American restaurant pasta variety), check it out.

Grappa on downtown main street is excellent. The food is amazing and it is very traditional Italian style, with entrees that are beautiful pieces of art. They prepare amazing fish with Italian seasoning. They serve pasta has a separate course, just like in Italy where as other restaurants serve pasta with tomato sauce and that is it. In the summer it is fun to sit outside on their terrace. I am a fan of this group of restaurants and visit them frequently. If you are a local, you can often find a coupon for the restaurant.

Being commoners from Salt Lake City it isn't often that we break away from our fine dining down here to visit the more "uptown" options in Park City, but one day we did venture to Grappa. The food was OK. Yeah, just OK, I have had better in MANY SLC restos. The service was atrocious. We were met with attitude like I have never seen anywhere and I have dined in establishments across the US and the world that were twice as expensive and twice as nice. In addition to rude and uppity servers, the couple at the table next to us not only visually showed their disdain to having us sit next to them, they verbally spoke of their disdain for having us sit next to them (loud enough for us to hear). My wife's diamonds were not as large as hers and neither was her hair so I guess that is how she knew we were paupers. I have never been back and I never intend to go back.

First time to Park CIty. Beautiful restaurant and excellent food. The Osso Bucco was outstanding, Service excellent. We had small party of 4 in center table, thankfully made a reservation last Friday night. Excellent wine and even accomodated my gluten free daughter for her pasta dish. Pricey but so is every place in Park City. I recommended Grappa to friends. (great grappa too) Donna Columbia, MD

Nobody in their right mind would call Grappa's food terrible. It is consistently solid, sometimes extraordinary. But, tonight, the poor service and the mediocre food left me cold. It was local's night - Monday night - and the restaurant was packed. Clearly, they had not anticipated such a crowd as they were seriously understaffed. We ordered a bottle of nice wine and the waitress dropped it off without opening it, saying she would be right back. In the mean time, our salads were served. Mine came dripping in dressing when I ordered it on the side and we had to request the standard bread service. In general, not a great idea to get your salad before you even have your drinks. The correct salad took another ten minutes to arrive. My entree was the special pasta - linguine -style noodles with pesto and vegetables. There was very little pesto on the noodles and the vegetables were sparse. It felt like Grappa was "cheaping out" since it was locals night. To be fair, however, my husband truly enjoyed his mushroom lasagna. He would have enjoyed it more if they didn't try to rush us and take it away before he was finished. The chocolate mousse for dessert was solid. In general, the food and service felt rushed and half-hearted. Not the experience I expect from Grappa (or from a $200 meal).

We came here during Sundance this year. I would say the food is good but the value is not. It was pretty expensive for what you get- $45 for truffle mac n' cheese? $15 for a boring mixed green salad? I realize Park City is expensive, but come on... On the plus side, the service was really good and the setting is somewhat romantic. The seating is a minus, the tables are uncomfortably jammed in there and they put us on the 3rd floor next to a kiddie table even though we'd had a reservation for weeks. They will definitely look you over at the front desk and figure out where you "belong."

If the prices were cut at least in half i could give this place 3 stars but are you serious Bill White? 40 dollars for skimpy portions of decent at best food? I think not...i am on a boycott of all of his restaurants. I have lived in PC for years and i know not to expect many great deals on main st. but this place is a bonafide ripoff!

Went here on a Saturday night. It's a pricey place, so don't go very often; but I found a 2 for 1 coupon in the local paper, so we went. Food was wonderful; Service was great! Cheapest bottle of wine was $36. Entree's were $30 to $45 or so (don't believe the internet that showed all entree's were $27) I wish we could go more often. Highly Recommended.

Grappa has an excellent reputation in Park City but it came off as a bit overrated on our visit. The food is pretty good, but for the prices, which are high, you expect over the top. The setting is unusual, it feels like you are entering a home, not a restaurant. That's good, unless you are seated on the 3rd floor and need to climb all the stairs. Actually, that's a good walk to prepare for a big meal. In summary, Grappa is a solid Park City choice, especially if you want trendy. But there are many other choices on Main Street that are in the same category, many with lower prices.

I can't put my finger on exactly what is wrong with the food at Grappa. It seems like the chef makes attempts to take traditional Italian dishes and put some sort of fusion spin on them - I just can't figure out what the fusion is. I recently had the "lasagna." It was totally weird. It was spiral and had no sauce, was stuffed with mushrooms and then was drenched in some sort of broth. Our waiter kept telling me, "It sounds really strange, but it's the best thing on the menu," so I ordered it. It was flavorless and difficult to eat as there was no sauce or cheese to hold it together. And if that was the best thing on the menu, this restaurant is in serious trouble. Fortunately, my husband ordered the filet and it was to die for. I give Grappa 2 stars and not 1 because the ambiance is really lovely, but ti doesn't make up for the strange menu items or the high prices for flavorless food.

Extremely overpriced GOOD food! The cost really takes away from the experience. That being said, the tomato soup was amazingly flavorful. Crowded & busy, but GREAT service.

All I've got to say is Grappa has really gone down hill. I took 8 people to the restaurant last Friday nite and 2 of us had the Oso Bouco and it was BAD. It used to be spectacular and at 47.50 it better be that good and it wasn't. Both of us said we would NEVER have it here again IF we ever come back. Other meals were fine and the service was fine, but if your signature dish is stringy and granular, you better get the place reworked.

Yum! Very romantic setting at the end of Main Street. The famous Osso Bucco was awesome and perfectly prepared. The gnocchi with house made meat sauce was so tasty I couldn't stop eating it! The soup sampler was a great option to try all the wonderful soups. The dessert was sort of disappointing as the creme brulee sugar coating was burnt and the creme was runny underneath. We were so looking forward to it and it would have been a perfect ending to our perfect meal. The coffee is very good though....

Pros: Romantic setting Patio / garden area Service Cons: Pricey all around Least expensive bottle of wine starts at $44 Table placement in certain areas Brought my beautiful girlfriend here for her birthday dinner a few weeks ago. We made a reservation just in case but it was mid-week september and the place was only a quarter full. We were seated outside at a nice table centered below an arch in a garden-like area. Although our table was outstanding, I can see how other reviewers have gotten crappy seats. My advice would be to make sure to ask for exactly what you want when you make the reservation for a special event. Onto the food - we tried the chicken w/ proscuitto and the salmon. The salmon was wonderful, very flaky and served to my liking. Both dishes were very filling as they're served with pasta. We had an overpriced bottle of red that was delicious, but, like i said, pricey. The vanilla creme-brulee was very good and capped off a nice leisurely dinner. I will go back, but on my ski-bum salary, probably only on special occasions and during summer dining deals!

Food was ok. Cost of food was ridiculous! Service was horrible. We were with our cousins from out of town so there was 8 of us. They automatically added 20% gratuity. Therefore the wait staff felt no need to wait on us. Our waitress forgot our appetizers. Our children sat with no bread on our table for at least 20 mins. Tables that were sat after us had bread. We had to go ask for the bread. She finally brought one of the three appetizers we ordered, which was roasted olives, they looked like raisins! What a joke! I do not recommend this restaurant.

Way overpriced and very underwhelmed. Great atmosphere, but they gouge you for mediocre food. I've had better at Olive Garden. Flavorless lasagna in some odd mushroom broth, dessert was a sliver of tiramisu and they charged twenty five dollars for the corkage fee on a bottle of wine that we brought in. We split a salad and dessert, each had an entree, coffee and got dinged for 150. Had much better and paid much less. The menu on line was not the prices on the menu handed to me. Great server and view, but eat elsewhere. Won't be back.

Grappa was suggested to me by a Seattle friend. A friend and I went there and we had a fabulous meal - venison with black truffle sauce and my friend had lamb. We enjoyed the mussel appetizer. We took our own bottle of wine and paid the $10 corkage fee. This was a good move because even with the fee we enjoyed a great bottle of wine at a modest cost. I only gave it 3 stars instead of 4 because the server had thought we had gotten our appetizers and we had not. As a result we were still enjoying our appetizers that had finally come when our entrees arrived soon thereafter. I felt rushed. And, my entree, totally yummy was lukewarm and not hot. The price point was appropriate for an upscale restaurant in a tourist ski town.

I want to first mention that this restaurant is not closed. This is my first review on yelp. I read the reviews often. I felt I needed to write one about grappa. Our party of six was looking forward to an Italian dinner at Grappa. The setting was comfort and the decor was very warm. We had a a 600.00 dinner we all left hungry and very disappointed. We ordered the chicken piccata which was chicken Parmesan without the sauce, but the noodles were good. The pork and the risotto were flavorless. the most disappointing meal was the cannelloni. This was prepared like a deep fried taquito. The server took this meal off the bill because it was hardly eaten. We liked the server at first, but we were disappointed that he didn't ask any of us about our half eaten meals. He obviously could see that none of us enjoyed them. We had reservations for a sister restaurant tonight but cancelled due to our bad experience.

The meal was a disaster from Appetizers to Entrees. I'm not sure where to begin. This was perhaps the most disappointing meal i have ever had. After having had an acceptable meal a few years back, my friends and I gave Grappa another shot this past weekend. Our appetizer selection included the Wedding Soup (how you can get away with calling those tiny lumps of meat actual "meatballs" is beyond me). Outside of the poor presentation, the taste of the "meatballs" left a lot to be desired. if there was a highlight from the entire meal, perhpas it was the broth of the soup. Perhaps. Another appetizer was the Eggplant Fondue. How about serving crispy eggplant chips with the fondue instead of bread? Burying the eggplant in cheese hides the taste completely. I'm not sure why this dish even exists. The entrees were a complete disaster. The chicken Saltimboca was served rollatini style over completely overcooked bow-tie pasta. The Osso Bucco was tougher than a dried steak. You had to actually cut it off the bone with a knife and fork. Good Osso Busso should fall off the bone! Fall off the bone, not have to be pried. The replacement meal for the Osso Bucco which was returned was a simple penne in red sauce. The penne was overcooked (as was the bow-tie pasta). How do you overcook a replacement dish. I'll tell you how. It was pre-cooked and sitting in water. The kicker... When I sit down to eat a meal with an average entree in the $40 range, I expect fresh grated cheese if that is what the meal calls for. Not the pre-grated store bought dried crap that they serve. Perhaps this is harsh, but hopefully this helps them in the long run. For now, take your money and appetite elsewhere, unless of course you like overpriced bad food.

Over rated and prices are ridiculous. I feel $25 for corkage is over the top. Food was fine but I felt not worth the cost.

Blah.... And I didn't have to pick up the check! The most enticing flavors were the Old Vine Zin that was from CALIFORNIA! I can bike down to Safeway and get the same wine that they served for 58.00 a bottle! They would not sit us at 7pm so we all had to truncate our ski/boarding sessions to get to a 6pm seating. The service was decent but the food was to be desired. I ordered the roast duck breast and again, like their sister restaurant Chimayo, found the food just plain boring and tasteless. I ended up grabbed the balsamic vinegar/olive oil mixture that came with the bread and dousing my meal with it. Offend the chef??? oh well, should have given me the salt and pepper or an apron so I could have made a far better meal. The roast pork tenderloin and sea bass that my friends ordered were equally boring... ketchup would have made ths meal bettter!!! This place is overrated and spendy- 250.00pp w/ wine... I could have had a better meal at The Eating Establishment and still had money for 2 days of boarding, but luckily I didn't have to pay for it!!!

Second night out in Deer Valley, UT/Park City, UT. We took the kids with us this time. I struggled with my star rating on this place. Here's the low down. The food was quite good (Risotto was delicious). The service very good too. The decor was quite nice, but the price was just sort of out of line. We probably should have gone to this place on a night when we weren't planning to bring the kids along. it wasn't the best spot with the children as a plate of plain pasta with butter was $15. My wine was also really good, but again quite pricey. I would probably eat here again, but on a special occasion.

Food: Good to very good. Ambiance: Very good, despite our party of eight, with month long reservations, being shoehorned into a table built for six. Service: Very good Value: Poor. This place is over priced. $29 risotto? Give me a break. My $49 osso bucco, presumably a house special, was nothing special. That said, the corkage fee was only $10, but that may have been because we also ordered a bottle of wine. Miscellaneous: Great place to see high maintenance women and the dos and dont's of plastic surgery.

Beautiful decor. Very romantic atmosphere. Seating is a little squished. Our server, Kevin was excellent in every way. The food was beautifully prepared but the taste was bland. I am not sure why they insist on calling this an Italian restaurant. There isn't a single Italian dish on the menu. Let's call it American/Continental.

Years ago, when I reviewed restaurants for Salt Lake City magazine, I put together a dining guide of restaurants along the Wasatch Front. I decided to group the restaurants not according to type of cuisine (mexican, chinese, etc.), but by atmosphere (romantic, party-time, etc.). Because when people go out to eat, I feel they should ask themselves not only what type of food they want, but what type of experience they are searching for that particular evening. Grappa was at the top of the "romantic" list. It is the kind of restaurant that is perfect for a long, leisurely meal with someone special. Grappa is not for a family of five seeking a quick bite, and it would be extremely uncomfortable eating there alone with my best drinking buddy. But if you want to eat magnificant Italian food while suducing the object of your affection, then you can't do much better than Grappa. The rustic Italian atmosphere is incredibly cozy and intimate. All the food is top-notch, so you really can't go wrong. The key is to share everything with your lover. Savor the Prince Edward mussels as you rub feet under the table. Slurp the "Sampling of Our Soups", as you gaze into each others eyes. Share the Osso Bucco while sipping a glass of Barolo. Have a playful fork duel over a shared Tiramisu for dessert. Finally, enjoy an after dinner cordial to warm up for the ride home. After being treated like the princess she is, your lady will be primed and ready for the finale of the evening. And you'll have Grappa to thank for it.

Top notch food. It bills itself as Italian but it seems more diverse in my recollection. More on the dressy side but I put on a dress button-down shirt with my black jeans and it's OK.

One of the most over-rated places I've experienced. Reservation at 8 apparently means you will be seated around 45 minutes later. Waiter was disinterested and complained about the place being understaffed. I am going to do a Simon Cowell and say that I am not as exuberant about the food here as much as my fellow reviewers. It was "forgetable".

Okay, kids, Monday nights is the time to experience Grappa. Ten dollar entrees, five dollar appetizers and desserts! Affordable and pleasant, sit on the balcony overlooking Main Street. Be sure and tell them you do not want to sit on the third balconey as it's rather confined and views are not that great! Salmon was amazing, as was the calemari. Honeydew sorbet very good and the Tirimisu terrific. Note that the tip is already included in your bill, which they do not tell you about (very upsetting to us, as the total bill for six was $160...corkage fee is ten dollars, so not sure if bringing your own wine really pays).

Food was great but the waiter thought we wouldn't review the check carefully (we were a party of seven with a decent bar bill) so he tacked on an extra $100 in bar charges. Go and enjoy but beware when the check comes.

I am a foodie from San Francisco who has eaten at a lot of restaurants all over the world, in my time. With my credentials explained, this is one of my favorite restaurants IN THE WORLD. Amazing flavors with interesting variety...not your regular "Italian Restaurant" menu. A refreshing take on Italian Fare, funny, bright and charming wait staff, great atmosphere and ambiance... Lots of seating choices from little corner nooks to in front of the fire tables... Prices match the quality of the food. You HAVE to check this place out if you are in Park City!

Was in town last Friday for Sundance and came here to have a nice, hearty Italian meal for a cold, winter night. As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, this place is WAY overpriced. First of all, while waiting for our table we got two glasses of wine at the bar. $29! Are you kidding me? $29? I could have scored two better tasting bottles of wine at Bevmo for that price. Next, once we were seated, the only option was a $75 pre-fixe for which only two entrees were offered at that price. Other entrees had sur-charges upwards of $25 and up. The food was second rate. My gnocchi dry, tasteless and swimming in oil, my crab bisque had no crab meat to be found and my sea bass was way over salted. I completely encourage others to eat elsewhere.

We tried to eat here last night. The waitress was so pretentious that we got up and left before she could look down her nose anymore. Very unfriendly place, snotty host AND waitress. Save your money.

This was the worst overpriced food and service in Park City. Our party of 8 with 2 younger kids waited 15 mins for bread and water. Our waitress forgot to put in two appetizers and really could care less. She was getting her 20% so didnt bother. The signature osso bucco was fatty and underwhelming. When we pointed out our lack of appetizers to our server, she brought dessert which was as bad as the osso bucco. Skip this place as there are too many other fabulous, less expensive places to go!

The group consensus --- "a bit overrated". Not to say that we didn't have some great wine, pricey, but great, and good service.
I'm not sure why others have had such a bad experience but I've been here twice and enjoyed myself both times. I had a large party here and was truly impressed with the ambiance, service and the food. The waiters were attentive but not hovering. The food was cooked to perfection and the wine list was good. Overall it is one of my favorites in PC. It is expensive but in my opinion we got what we paid for.

We are new to the area, but went there with friends who were visiting from out of town. We arrived without a reservation, but it was off season, so we were able to get a nice table on the first floor in the corner. Our experience was similar to Brent W.'s. Our waitress was excellent and handled our many requests with charm and grace, and was very helpful with the menu and the wine choices. We ordered several appetizers, including the calamari (excellent), wine, and three of us got the Osso Buco, which the waitress recommended as a house specialty. It was great. We were too full for desert and passed on coffee, but they had several tempting offerings. Overall, we greatly enjoyed the experience and plan to go back.

Reservation highly recommended. We had a table for two that was sort of in an awkward location on the first floor but that really bother us after our dining experience at Grappa. Service was top-notch, our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Prior to serving, the manager greeted us at the table with a sample size of their special soup of the day, yum yum. Wine selection is fairly decent. Pork Chop dinner entree was declicious. It was not a cheap meal by time we were done but we felt this is one of the nicest restaurants we've dined in amongst our visits to Park City.

Went to Grappa this past weekend and I was pretty happy with the food. I am rather shocked by the low scores this restaurant has recieved thus far. The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was pretty perfect. Maybe we got lucky with the servers but it was a good experience. Granted, I was here thanks to an event so that probably did influence them quite a bit, however, I can't complain. I'll be back the next time we're in PC.
Grappa must be living off a past I am not familiar with. I found it to be way over priced for the quality of the food provided. Appetizers were pretty good but main courses were a disappointment. Did not try deserts. Ambiance is nice but service was indifferent at best. Wine list is good but expensive. This place is highly rated in some quarters but I don't see it.

Went there on NYE with a large party of 9. Eddie, our server, was rude from the very beginning. He was ticked off when we weren't ready to order within minutes of arrival and literally told us to order quickly because they're really crowded. We had exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes for dinner. At dessert time, he asked whether we'd like to order digestifs or whether we were on our way out. I've never been treated so poorly. The tip was included on this $800+ bill. Unbelievable.

The food is not worth the ridiculous prices. The decor is cozy and the service was fabulous. The best part is it is located right next to the bars!

Wow, I'm shocked by the low score because the food here is excellent. Like its sister restaurants (Chamayo and Wahso) the decor was unique and tasteful. The food is delicious, plentiful (I was stuffed after the first course of crab ravioli) and beautifully plated. My favorite entree was the buffalo short ribs--- they were goooood. All of the appetizers and salads were tasty. The wine list is also pretty extensive here, another bonus. I agree with the other reviewers that the service could be better. The food is expensive here, but I think all of the restaurants of this caliber in Park City are in the same price range.

A romantic restaurant with an incredible feel. The fondue is amazing. I tend to get a couple of appetizers, salad and dessert. Overpriced for what you get. A great place to go during the summer when you can sit outside on one of the patios. If you are ever in Park City during the summer or slower months, look out for 2 for 1 coupons in the Park Record. A great way to save a little money.

One of the better Italian restaurants I have had the privilege of eating in. My wife ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and we were blown away at the flavoring within heir meatballs. I had the veal and it did not disappoint. We will be going back here again and again. The ambience is amazing and eclectic. Excellent place to eat and socialize.

I chose this place for our company dinner tonight and thought based on the reviews, this would be a special treat for our employees who worked hard all summer. However, not only based on my tastes, but from other comments around the table, the food was just ok, nothing spectacular and definitely not worth the $26 and above prices. The ambience, presentation of the food, and the waitstaff were all nice. If you are in Park City for dinner and decide to come here, I would recommend going on Mondays (locals night). They have a discounted menu (which in my opinion, matches more to the food/quality you get). If you have the funds to splurge on a really expensive dinner, go somewhere else. You won't feel like you got your money's worth here.

Bill White had a promotion for buy one entree get one free - so we were choosing between his restaurants, and I landed at Grappa as my final choice. We parked in the pay-to-park lot adjacent to the restaurant. Approaching the place, it's adorable - situated at the top of Main Street up on a hill, their property is full of statues and lighting, plus an awesome outdoor patio. Turns out that they are stacked (literally), three floors high of wait service. We were seated right in the middle against the railing on the second level. Our server approached us and walked us through the wine list, and offered us either still or sparkling water (charged). We both opted for a glass of Italian red wine, and enjoyed the complimentary bread and dip while perusing the menu. Mom landed on the horseradish crusted salmon, while after seeing yelp photos of the Lamb tagliatelle I couldn't possibly entertain the idea of ordering something else. I was blown away with this pasta. It was very reasonably priced, especially juxtaposed with some of the other entree options. It was a great portion size (I couldn't even finish) and the homemade pasta was a perfect al dente. The lamb was delicious and the sauce was perfectly seasoned - if not a little salty. Mom was not nearly as impressed with her entree. The "crust" lacked any sort of spiciness or kick that fresh horseradish carries, leading her to doubt the freshness. It was more of a coating instead of a crust, and added no additional flavors to the meal. The fish was served on a arugula puree and had a few blanched vegetables on the side, but for about $30 she was disappointed in both the portion size (no salad or side at all) and the quality of the food. Overall, without the BOGO, I'm not sure the entire meal would have been worth what I paid, but my plate was outstanding, and the service was stellar.

We came in for locals night on Monday and really enjoyed our experience. We were seated at a great table outside and enjoyed the reasonably priced menu ($12-15 entrees). Our group tried the mushroom lasagna, the chicken, the sirloin and the pork tenderloin. The pork tenderloin was so flavorful and tender and served with polenta and arugula with raisins...yummy!

Have eaten at this restaurant many times while vacationing in Park City. However last night we arrived with reservations and were seated at a table with wet seats from a recent rain storm. They expected us to sit on the wet chairs. They said they didn't have any other chairs. No accommodation at all. I still can't believe that a restaurant of this class would require their patrons to sit on soaking wet seats.

Gorgeous ambiance in old wooden mill. Great for large groups, food was really good as well. Look forward to returning. Only disappointment was large group with set menu and zero flexibility. Will come back to really enjoy.

We stopped in for drinks and an appetizer last night, thinking that if we were impressed, we'd stay for dinner. We ordered the grape salad (on multiple reviews' recommendations), I got a Manhattan and my wife ordered the grappa spritz. Sadly, we were underwhelmed. Nothing was "bad," it was just "meh." And for $50, we honestly felt ripped off. We decided not to stay for dinner.

We dined at Grappa on June 30 as we have done for many years. We've been visiting Park City regularly for over 20 years and have gone to Grappa almost since it opened. The ratings I give this time are: 4 Stars for the wait staff, very knowledgable and articulate about the menu and wines. Minus one star as the server recommended the lasagne as the best pasta on the menu (more later...) 2 Stars for the food. My grapes and gorgonzola salad was good, always order it. When choosing between the lobster ravioli appetizer and the mushroom lasagne, the server recommended the lasagne. When it came, the lasagne noodles were wrapped with the mushrooms inside and then it must have been baked, all in a red sauce on the plate. When I tried to cut the noodle, they were so stiff, I dropped my fork and knife into the red sauce. The server brought me utensils and asked if I wanted to change to the ravioli instead. I initially said, "no" but as time went on, she saw I wasn't eating the lasagne and offered again to substitute the lasagne and this time I said, "yes". 1 Star for the manager who bought the ravioli, put it down, unfriendly stare said, "Bon Appetitto.". After dinner, I encountered the manager again. He just looked at me so I said that I thought the lasagne was not a good dish as it was so difficult to eat. He offered no apology or friendliness and said that the lasagne was the favorite pasta dish on the menu. I left with a very bad feeling, which as too bad as I feel for $150.00 plus tip, we should have at least left with a good feeling. We ended our meal with a grappa and espresso, the best items of our evening. We will miss the old Grappa in the future.

Grappa is my favorite place to eat in Park City. The way it is lit up at night is stunning. The atmosphere is Tuscan cozy. It gets really crowded so make reservations. I like the second floor. The third floor is usually big tables and families so avoid that if you can. I had the pasta with meatballs Amatricana which sounds mundane but it was so delicious! Just the right amount if kick to it. Also fav is whole Branzino, a delicious fish from Greece. Wonderful every year when we visit Park City.

This place is fantastic! Everything tastes homemade, our server was great, and the ambiance was amazing! Try and sit on the patio if you can. My husband is the pickiest eater in the world, and he was obsessed with the lasagna! The presentation of the food is fantastic as well. I had the risotto, best I've had in my life. We will definitely be coming back!
Loved this place! My husband and I have been waiting to go. We took our 2 month old. This place was so accommodating. We were seated upstairs with other tables with children. Nice touch, and I wasn't nervous that we were going to ruin other diners experience. Our wait staff was very polite and took great care of us. Now, for the food. We started with the pork belly! Oh my!!!! I will go back for this, even if i order nothing else. Perfectly cooked. The corn and peaches were also delicious. We then orders the grappa salad and my husband opted for another appetizer with the lobster ravioli. He enjoyed the ravioli, but wouldn't order it again. I on the other hand now dream about that grape salad. Magic. The tastes are so fresh and delicious. I wish i could take that dish home and eat it every day. Don't miss this when you visit. Then the main dish. I had the pork chop, my husband had the fish. Both were delightful. The pork chop was a bit salty, but that would be my only complaint. We really enjoyed our experience and I will be back. If only for the appetizer and salad. Great location at the top of main as well.

Good food and service was great. It was a beautiful night but the temperature inside was too hot, thought the air conditioning was broke. Very unpleasant.

Ambiance, service and food preparation all came together perfectly at Grappa. Our waiter, Steve, was friendly and quite attentive. The ambiance is "Tuscany comes to Park City" and although all the outdoor tables were full, we were seated in a cozy spot on the first level. The food was fantastic! We started with a cold soup and flat bread for apps with a chianti. The highlight was my husband's entree of osso bucco. It was slow cooked and literally fell off the bone. The polenta and sauce was a perfect complement. My scallops were sweet and cooked just right...not rubbery like many other places. The sauce and caramelized veggies also complemented the scallops. We are locals and will surely be back!

Love this place! This is our second time there and both times have been amazing. If the weather is nice, you should definitely sit outside since they have 3 levels of patios. The servers are all great! We ordered the lasagna, ravioli and antipasto. All were terrific. The best part was the cherry crostata with vanilla ice cream. Delicious!

My family and I are new to the area but not new to fine dining. The place is very cozy and has great decor. The server we had wasn't the best. They served someone in my party a wrong type of wine and questioned us on it (we know our wine). Although they did come through as to what wine to go with my linguine with clams, the clams themselves were not good. I would recommend this place for good wine and apps, their main courses are lacking.

Grappa was the first place we dined in Park City. It was before we moved here on a visit during the Summer...did that chance visit provide the ultimate confirmation that Park City was the place where we needed to move our small family because we could find true Italian food in the mountains of Utah...yes probably. We just returned to Grappa for Valentine's day and again, excellent food and service. I am looking forward to our next visit. P.S. My husband is allergic to corn, which happens to be in everything from white vinegar to maltodextrin, on such a busy night I was very thankful for our server and Chef as they were VERY accommodating and checked all of the ingredients in our order. I wish more Park City restaurants on Main were so considerate.

Very expensive but delicious. Not an everyday kind of place but nice for a date night. Great ambiance.

My first favorite restaurant in Park City. That was over 13 years ago. I still love the place. I am gluten free so I don't frequent it as often as I did before but there are plenty of menu items for me to eat. Many amazing items have stood the test of time and I still love them... The sauce for the bread is incredible, the grape salad, the mushroom soup & the osso bucco are still my go to items after all these years! The ambiance is great, service is good and in the summer we enjoy sitting outside. Treat yourself! Enjoy

I have been twice now and every time I leave satisfied and stuffed. I last ordered the mushroom lasagne and it was amazing. The hosts were nice and the server was excellent. Overall I had a great experience and look forward to returning!
Average at best! Had the house salad which was great! And the bread and dipping sauce was great! Then it went down hill from there. Had the spaghetti because it sounded so yummy! Could have made it at home. Nothing special. My friend had the lasagna which she said was amazing! To top it off, we ordered the tiramisu...just don't! Dry and tasteless! I'm pretty sure there was zero rum in it! Yuck!! Try another restaurant like Zoom, Chimayo or Handle.

Grappas was recommended to us as a high end Italian restaurant that is heavy on the fish and light on the pasta. Perfect. As those traits more closely align with our vision of Italian food. We had a 7 pm reservation but we're an hour early. No problem. The austere hostess sat us on the 2nd floor where Sara took the best care of our dining experience. Truly when you have wait staff as caring and knowledgeable and professional as Sara, the term waitress seems woefully inadequate and demeaning. She new the menu, could speak to it and the specials with a knowledge only capable by someone who took the time and had tasted all the menu items. She was descriptive and passionate in telling us about the specials. Infinitive patient as we questioned her on the details. We took her at her word for her personal recommendations and we're not disappointed. We began with the mushroom soup and the red grapes with gorganzolla salad. The soup was rich and earthy, plenty of umani flavor without being to heavy on the cream. The grapes were sweet, the perfect counter part to the astringent cheese. Lightly coated with a nice vinaigrette. Rich nutty roasted walnuts. Excellent beginning. Next came our entrees. Osso bucco and red snapper. Both were as promised. The veal was roasted to perfection. Wonderful braised flavors and fork tender. The crisp green beans and creamy potatoes were perfect side items. The sauce was amazing. This is a dish where the time preparing it was not rushed. The 14 hour roasting process should be patented. The snapper was beautifully prepared and presented. The flavor was light and clean. The texture melted in your mouth. The detail obvious in the perfectly cubed carrots and celery only added to our appreciation of Chef and the entire cooking staff. We ended our meal with the classic tierra misu with espresso and biscotti. We could only manage a couple of heavenly bites before asking Sara to box it up for us. I would also add that Sara's timing in bringing our courses, refilling our beverages, answering our questions and clearing our table only heightened our experience. She was our culinary guide. I would also add that it was my birthday. We had traveled from Atlanta that morning, making our time from waking up to dinner 16 hours. I say this to underscore this review. That is a long day for anyone. If you have been there you know what I mean. I read some of the other reviews and am saddened that those diners did not share our experience. A well informed guest can best appreciate the work and care that goes into Grappos dining. The atmosphere and building were also appreciated. The details were present in every ceiling joist and bathroom fixture. If i could make one suggestion, it would be to offer a half portions option. The food was plentiful. Being over full at the end of the meal is not pleasant. But it was all so wonderful that we did not want to waste a single mouthful. Please note that this is a high end restaurant. If your are staying in the area there are half price offers available during certain seasons. Ask around. You will not be disappointed. My apologies for any misspellings

Stopped in for dinner and we are very happy we did. Almost skipped it because of other reviews but a parking spot was open right out front, so we took it. The atmosphere is delightful and the service was impeccable. Our server was Erin. She was friendly, knowledgable and on the ball. We started with the signature salad which was fresh, creative and delicious. We followed with the pork chop and the divers scallops. The scallops were spectacular. Perfectly prepared with a flavorful complement of sides. The pork chop was juicy and perfectly prepared in an exceptional sauce. The butternut squash ravioli that accompanied the pork chop were amazing!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! ANOTHER BILL WHITE BLUNDER Thank heavens we had a gift certificate because there was nothing worth the $200+ we spent. My husband and I came here for my birthday dinner. First the restaurant was nearly empty, and what does the hostess do- cram us into a corner where litterally I have to keep my chair FULLY tucked in so that the other 3 tables surrounding us can get around. I am small person and I can't imagine how someone with a larger waste size would be able to sit in there. Second, we notified the server that I was expecting, and I understand not everyone knows all the ins- and outs of what a pregant woman can eat however, don't offer her a wine list. That is pretty well assumed that she isn't going to be drinking. To start we ordered the calamari. It was good pretty standard. We then ordered the Chef's flatbread of the night. It was probably my favorite part of the meal. It had pears and balsalmic, honestly it was better than my entree I had the mushroom soup. This was also a bigger hit than the entree. It wasn't too rich nor was it overly bombarding you with earthy mushroom flavors. I ordered the salmon. It was ok. It was cooked well and paired well with appropriate sides including an eggplant dish and an arugula salad, however I can honestly say that sides were the stars of the plate not the protien. For dessert we had the dark chocolate mousse. Meh more like a jello pudding that you make at home than a dark chocolate mousse in my book. Rumor around Park City is the servers who are in Bill White's restaurants are worthless and rude. Well this is no exception to that stereotype. If you are ini Park City my advice, skip this one!

I was recently in Park City with my family, and a friend of ours suggested we eat here. SO glad we did!! It was probably one of my top 5 meals of my life. The service was excellent and the food was incredible. We had one of their flatbreads - which are not actually very flat at all. They're more of a normal pizza crust, but the dough is AMAZING. There were 4 of us, and we pretty much argued the entire time we were eating our entrees about who had the best one! We had the spaghetti and meatballs (awesome if you like spicy things), the lasagna, and the risotto of the day. ALL were fabulous. It will be the first place I go back next time I'm in Park City!

In February we had a group of friends in town celebrating our anniversaries. I was able to get a Bill White restaurant gift card at Costco - you pay $80 for $100 worth of food at any Bill White restaurant in PC (and yes, you can split them up and use them at different restaurants.) I'll start off by saying how glad I am that we got a reservation WELL in advance. It looked like Wall Street in the foyer with people yelling across the room, "Table for four! Four! Yes, me!" "I need two coats! Two black down coats!" Ski season, gotta love it! We were seated immediately at a gorgeous table upstairs with an amazing view. I also have to say that I LOVE this location. Our friends were excited before they even got into the restaurant because of the lovely building. Our server (who was PERFECT the whole meal) brought us bread and a tasty dipping sauce while we looked at our menus. We all tried each others meals, and each dish was great. Everyone agreed that the seasonal butternut squash risotto stole the show. Luckily it was mine and I got to take half home to eat the next day. Great food, wonderful views, decent prices for the experience, beautiful restaurant - we'll go back!

The food was good, and the service quite competent, but the cold was ruthless. Sitting on the main floor, with no double door, meant freezing during our entire meal and being very uncomfortable. We were not offered any solution and instead spent our nearly 500 dollar meal shivering and hoping for a break from the freezing draught. You need a double door like every other restaurant.

Had a wonderful dinner during the Sundance Film Festival. This is one of their busiest weeks and a special menu was provided. The meals and service were great as always. We were a party of 6 and everyone agreed it was a terrific dinner.

We moved here about 6 months ago and truly haven't had a bad meal in Park City.... That is until tonight. This place came recommended to us and we were excited to try it. The evening started by arriving at our table for two crammed next to two large tables, literally inches from the other tables. They have truly tried to cram way too many tables on the third floor. It's insulting. To me it seems like they care more about the bottom line than the experience for their customers. And our table was not the worst in the room. We felt rushed to order from the moment we sat down and then they brought our apps before even serving bread. The $19 lobster ravioli wasn't fresh and then the apps were taken away before we finished to serve our salad. The best part of the meal was the $16 dollar grape salad with three walnuts. My husband had the white fish dish and I had the bolognese Bianca. The food was uninspiring and seemed like this was the sort of food served in a chain italian place instead of a fine dining experience in downtown Park City. This was one of the more expensive places we have eaten at and one of the most uninspiring and unpleasant meals. It's not that we want our money back, but we would like the whole experience back. Don't waste your time. Go to one of the other excellent restaurants in town - Riverhorse and Talisker were both better meals and better experiences and better value.

The food is excellent but they WAY overbook their reservations. Had to wait 45 minutes after showing up for our reservation time.

This was definitely a 2 to 3 star experience, though a lot of the rationale is due to the prices. I understand this is Park City, but the food doesn't justify the prices here. The food at Grappa was A-Ok. There were some STELLAR things: most notably, the "gravy" that comes with the bread (some combination of cheese, butter, balsamic, and heaven), and the cioppino. And there were some really-less-than-average-things (the ceasar salad, the lamb pasta dish, which had a very strange almost cinnamon-y flavor that wasn't really identified in the menu, but was obviously missing the olives it said it should have). I personally chose the lamb shank, which was pretty good but not amazing. This place could do better.

Sometimes I venture up to Park City for some snacks and was searching for a place to eat during the slow season. (most places are closed in May) I found Grappa open for business. This place is on the higher and most Utahns don't understand upscale dining so I will review it as if I am from DC. (my former home) Also, if you review during Sundance you are not really reviewing any restaurant based on it's true ability. I am sure PC loves the business but it often prompts Yelpers to club great restaurants. The dining area is appointed well and staff had great manners. The wine list was perfect. I think some places go crazy with an overdone list of wine most people will never purchase. I ordered Salad and steak. Both of which were done perfectly. Medium rare was spot on which can be difficult for many places. Desert was spot on! 3 course dinner will run about 40 to 80 a plate. Wine 50 to $$$$ I spent 120 on drinks.

We returned to this restaurant this year while on vacation in Park City. The best part of the meal was the large antipasto platter split between the 5 of us, which was flavorful and delicious. The pickled grapes were interesting too! While the entrees were well-cooked, they seemed a bit pricey for what we got. Also, the atmosphere was cramped and a little stuffy. Therefore, I give this place 4 stars.

The restaurant's ambiance is warm and friendly. We were immediately offered drinks and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. The Branzino was fantastic, not a bone to be found; the lobster ravioli was delicious; the mushroom soup delectable. The strawberry soda arrived with whip cream which was a bit of a surprise and probably should have been dessert. The focaccia served with dipping sauce also terrific. A wonderful meal. Easy parking right across the street.

Our family has high standards and regularly eat at some of the finest restaurants in several large cities and Grappa is well worth the trip and the expense (unlike several others owned by the same company). Great service. Beautiful room and views (third floor) Great food Would highly recommend. Osso Bucco is a hit!

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(5)Jon Y.

(5)John P.
(2)Lindsey J.

Came here on Monday, local night. The food was pretty good. The dipping sauce for the bread was incredible.

VERY GOOD!
(5)Steve K.
Went last night. Niciose flat bread is a must, as is lobster ravioli for appetizers. Moved on to Prosciutto asparagus and goat cheese salad - excellent presentation and tasted even better. Entrée was the Osso Bucco - amazing! Pricey but worth it -split items and eat more around the menu! Taste more dishes! :) Dessert? Strawberry rhubarb pastry delite!...sort of gelato-like sandwiched in thin pastry. Excellente'! Finish off the meal with the imported "Grappa" after dinner spirit - sort of Italian moonshine-like! Really! All that said, yes, will be returning!
(5)Tom D.
(4)Brad D.
Ate here and at Silver on a recent trip to PC. Silver was overpriced and fair, Grappa was overpriced and excellent. I would definitely go back, worth the 150/couple it costs.
(4)Taryn S.

STELLAR!
(4)Noel B.
(4)Damon B.

(2)Vicki L.
Incredible service - and our server's description of the menu items made everything sound irresistible. Nice wine list - by the bottle and glass. Cozy and pretty atmosphere. The house made dip for the bread causes instant addiction!
(4)Paige H.
Flat bread was excellent! Pricey but good. Service was very nice.
(4)Melissa D.

(5)Mike M.
(3)Z P.
Great service but food was awful. Adding insult to injury was that everything was incredibly overpriced. That was our first and last time at Grappa. There's too many other great options on Main St to give it a second chance.
(2)Jeff F.
Came in this past week. Based on the papperdelle I had, I can't give this place any more than 2 stars. I probably need to try more food to make an informed judgement, but that's not going to happen so two stars is it.
(2)MP P.
(5)David A.

(4)Brent W.
(4)Ralph S.
(4)Mark B.
Yummy, yummy, yummy. How do you say yummy in Italian? Everyone we asked recommended this restaurant. I would go again.
(4)Lonnie R.
Do not order potatoe lasagna. Patatoe augratin would be better name. Very disappointed.
(1)Arlyne C.
(4)Erin I.
(3)JoEllen L.
(2)Carly W.
(3)Sparky E.
(4)Andrew S.

Like LA-attitude in your restaurant service? Go to Grappa.
(1)Jennefer T.
(2)M G.
(3)Elliot G.
(2)Rick H.
not bad its ok
(3)DJ W.
(5)A T.
(3)Stefanie G.
(2)Jessica M.
Extremely overpriced GOOD food! The cost really takes away from the experience. That being said, the tomato soup was amazingly flavorful. Crowded & busy, but GREAT service.
(3)Steve P.
(2)Lisa N.
(4)Rich L.
(4)Aaron G.
(2)Derek R.
(1)Karen B.

(1)Jeff S.
(1)Charles S.
Over rated and prices are ridiculous. I feel $25 for corkage is over the top. Food was fine but I felt not worth the cost.
(3)Inga R.

(3)Tim J.
(3)Jesse R.
I have always had a great time at Grappa, the service, food, and especially ambiance has been top notch. A must while visiting Park City!

(3)Drew F.
overall, a pleasurable experience. I like this type of Italian food.

Good food, but not fantastic.service competent, not exemplary.

Great service and wine, food very so so. More than underwhelmed. I had the pork tenderloin which was overcooked and dry.
(2)Jon G.
Top notch food. It bills itself as Italian but it seems more diverse in my recollection. More on the dressy side but I put on a dress button-down shirt with my black jeans and it's OK.
(4)Harold H.
(2)Christie B.
(3)Kes T.

(1)Andrea W.
(1)David F.
The group consensus --- "a bit overrated". Not to say that we didn't have some great wine, pricey, but great, and good service.
(4)Rocky A.
Not sure why we read some less than stellar reviews, but our experience this evening was fantastic! We were seated at an intimate table for four upstairs, our server Kara could not have been more accommodating or genuinely charming! We began with a wonderful super-Tuscan wine, some fantastic soup and soufflé, osso buco and eggplant rollatini and finished with a great cannoli. If you are fortunate enough to be in Park City for dinner, don't miss a chance to dine at Grappa!
(5)Karen C.
(4)Dave A.
(4)Vicky S.
(5)Anita B.
(4)Lezlei K.
We ate at Grappa in February 2009. This was our third time to eat there. We were seated at a tablle jammed into a column. The tables were so close together that neither the patrons nor the wait staff could move. One entrée was undercooked and the other was tasteless. The waiter disappeared after the entrees were served. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot inside. We have eaten there before and were very pleased. The problem appears to be that they have maximized the seating beyond their ability to efficiently serve their patrons.
(2)Peter L.
(3)Laura C.
(1)A D.
The food is not worth the ridiculous prices. The decor is cozy and the service was fabulous. The best part is it is located right next to the bars!
(3)Mama L.
(3)Raymond M.
(4)Hyrum C.
(4)Janice L.

(4)Jennifer S.
(4)Jeff C.
(1)Julie G.
Gorgeous ambiance in old wooden mill. Great for large groups, food was really good as well. Look forward to returning. Only disappointment was large group with set menu and zero flexibility. Will come back to really enjoy.
(4)Paul M.

(5)Katie S.
(5)Marissa S.
We were in Park City for Sundance and came across the Condé Nast list of best places to eat. Grappa was on it and it didn't disappoint. We started with the fondue which was perfect for our party of 5. A few people had the beet salad which they said was delish and I had the Caesar salad which was fresh and the perfect appetizer salad. For my dinner, I had the bolognese-perfect. Others in my group had the salmon and the risotto. Everything was a great portion size and cooked to perfection. They also had a lovely wine selection. Highly recommend.

Excellent service! Monday (locals night) is a must!
(5)Tom O.
Good food and service was great. It was a beautiful night but the temperature inside was too hot, thought the air conditioning was broke. Very unpleasant.
(3)J V.
(5)Rebecca R.
Delicious!
(5)Travis C.

(5)Amy H.
Very expensive but delicious. Not an everyday kind of place but nice for a date night. Great ambiance.
(4)Lucy B.
Enjoy
(5)Tyler M.
I have been twice now and every time I leave satisfied and stuffed. I last ordered the mushroom lasagne and it was amazing. The hosts were nice and the server was excellent. Overall I had a great experience and look forward to returning!
(5)James F.
Bad experience. Abysmal service and exorbitant prices even for Park City. Went there few days ago. Walked into waiting room to find dozens waiting. Taken to table in a windowless hole; asked to be upgraded. Rooms hot and uncomfortable. Waited 15 minutes for water; another 10 for drinks. Food average and luke warm. Waiter sucked--only way to put it. Recommend staying away--you'll feel cheated and robbed of your money. Caption for photo: "Here is your entrée. Enjoy!"
(1)Heidi V.

(5)John L.

Extremely cozy Italian restaurant in Park City. Excellent fondue augment the simple, flavorful Italian fare. High marks for service and ambience also.
(4)Robynn L.
Expensive and marginal food. Table next to us enjoyed their dinner but all 5 at our table were unhappy with dinner. We are not picky and still ended up very unhappy.
(1)Liz B.
(5)Nicki W.
(4)Natasha B.
(3)G S.
Had a wonderful dinner during the Sundance Film Festival. This is one of their busiest weeks and a special menu was provided. The meals and service were great as always. We were a party of 6 and everyone agreed it was a terrific dinner.
(5)Heather S.
